Missouri quarterback Brady Cook left the Week 8 matchup against Auburn on Saturday due to a suspected ankle injury. He initially showed signs of distress early in the first quarter after being sacked, and subsequently fell on the turf three plays later, remaining down for a period.

Cook managed to jog to the locker room after some time. Prior to his exit, he had completed three out of four pass attempts for a total of 37 yards. With his ankle wrapped, there is an expectation, as noted by the ESPN broadcast, that he may return to the game.

Drew Pyne, a transfer from Arizona State, took over and successfully completed a 6-yard screen pass to wide receiver Theo Wease, which positioned Missouri within field goal range. Kicker Blake Craig then converted a 51-yard field goal, giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead.

Should Cook's injury require a prolonged absence, it would significantly impact Missouri's offensive capabilities. Before Saturday's contest, Cook had amassed 1,357 passing yards and seven touchdowns, with only one interception.
